PhD Graduation at MIT
Wikipedia: Graduation or also called “Commencement” is the action of receiving or conferring an academic degree or the ceremony.
Last week, I graduated from MIT and received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy or PhD. I received the doctoral hood from MIT a day before the Commencement during the “Hooding Ceremony”:
This hood represents the colors of the university and is given to and worn by PhD students in addition to the traditional graduation robe:
The beautiful ceremony included a procession of the academic staff and candidates, as well as a speech by the Governor of Massachusetts and MIT President Susan Hockfield. Here is the video of the MIT commencement 2009:

My warmest thanks to my family and friends and everyone, who supported me along my path to get this far! Yours, Daniel
