You only need high speed film when there is very little light available. With enough light a high speed photograph can be taken on slow film (small ASA number). High ASA numbers (high speed film) is only needed when light levels are low. Single flash strobe is also a strange combination of terms. A single electronic flash works better for me. The word strobe originally meant to do with seeing. It has unfortunately become a word describing electronic flash. My father finallt gave up and used it that way himself in his book Electronic Flash, Strobe. The expression high speed film gives the wrong impression.
